Bio

Brian is a trumpet player, songwriter, and co-founder of The Pocket Money Orchestra.  Since 16 he has been active in the Boston jazz and jam band scene, performing with The Romano Project, Henley Douglas’s HDRnB, The North Shore Jazz Project All-Star Big Band, and The Pocket Change Quartet.

These groups have taken him to venues ranging from Ryles Jazz Club (Cambridge, MA), Chianti Jazz Lounge (Beverly, MA), The Shalin Liu Performance Center (Rockport, MA), and The Strange Creek, Big Dig, and Ziontific Music Festivals. The Pocket Money Orchestra recently made their festival debut at the 2014 Salem Jazz and Soul Festival.

Currently studying Jazz and Spanish, Brian is in his second year at the University of Denver.  In addition to the school ensembles, he is working on several projects in the Denver area.  Influenced by artists like Charles Mingus, Booker T. and the MG’s, and Joe Jackson, Brian works towards combining elements of jazz, funk, and alternative genres into energetic original music.
